Meet NC Nano Coating for Wood, a deeply penetrating protective nano coating designed to provide long-lasting protection for untreated timber while maintaining its natural appearance.

Unlike conventional treatments that can form a visible film on the surface, NC Nano Coating for Wood penetrates deep into the porous wood structure. Once dry, the treatment is transparent and colourless, leaving the natural look of the timber virtually unchanged.

The coating helps significantly reduce moisture absorption, making the timber less susceptible to the effects of prolonged exposure to moisture and weathering.

Deep-Penetrating Protection

NC Nano Coating for Wood is designed to penetrate into the timber rather than simply sitting on top of it.

This makes it particularly suitable for bare and untreated wood where the coating can be absorbed effectively into the surface.

Only Use on Bare or Untreated Timber

NC Nano Coating for Wood needs to penetrate into the wood fibres to work effectively.

For this reason, do not apply it over paint, varnish, lacquer, wood stain or other sealed finishes.

Previously treated timber must first be completely stripped back to clean, bare and absorbent wood.

We recommend carrying out a small absorption test on an inconspicuous area before treating the entire surface.

Preparing Weathered or Greyed Timber

Has the timber become weathered or grey over time?

Prepare the surface first using our NC Nano Wood Cleaner. This helps thoroughly clean the timber and restore as much of its original appearance as possible before the nano coating is applied.

Allow the timber to dry completely before continuing with the coating.

Get the Best Results in 6 Simple Steps

Before starting, please take the following practical information into account.

The timber must be free from loose paint, old wood stain, varnish, dirt and other contamination before application.

For optimum absorption and performance, always apply NC Nano Coating for Wood to a clean, dry, dust-free and absorbent surface.

Always test the product on a small, inconspicuous area first to check absorption and appearance.

Step 1 – Clean Weathered Timber

If the timber is weathered or has turned grey, treat it first with NC Nano Wood Cleaner.

This helps thoroughly clean the timber and restore as much of its original appearance as possible before applying the protective coating.

Step 2 – Prepare the Surface

Make sure the timber is completely dry, clean and free from dust.

Remove all loose paint and any remaining traces of old wood stain, varnish or other finishes.

Only apply the coating to untreated timber or timber that has been completely stripped back to bare wood.

Do not apply to sealed, painted, varnished or non-absorbent wooden surfaces.

Step 3 – Apply the Coating

Shake the product thoroughly before use.

Apply NC Nano Coating for Wood evenly using a suitable brush or felt roller.

Where possible, work in the direction of the wood grain to ensure an even application.

Step 4 – Allow the Coating to Penetrate

Saturate the timber evenly and allow each coat sufficient time to penetrate into the wood.

The amount of product required will vary depending on the timber species, porosity and absorbency of the surface.

Step 5 – Remove Excess Product

Avoid puddles, runs or excessive product building up on the surface.

Remove any excess coating immediately using a clean cloth.

The coating is designed to penetrate into the timber rather than form a thick surface layer.

Step 6 – Apply Additional Coats

For optimum results, we recommend applying 2–3 coats, depending on how absorbent the timber is.

Allow each application to penetrate properly before applying the next coat.

Once treatment is complete, allow the timber to dry thoroughly. The surface will normally be touch dry after approximately 3 hours and fully dry after approximately 24 hours.
