The idea for Nanocoating.co.uk came about after Daan and Vincent had spent years working online in the coatings and paint industry.

They were behind websites such as Coating.nl and Verflaag.nl, which still attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year looking for information about coatings and paint. They also worked on more than 20 coatings and paint websites across 20 different countries.

The goal was simple: to bring supply and demand together in the often complex world of coatings.

And somewhere along the way, they came across something they thought was seriously exciting: nano coatings.

Tiny technology. Impressive results.

Nano coatings work at an incredibly small scale, helping to fill microscopic imperfections in a surface that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

The result?

Protected surfaces where water and dirt have far less opportunity to stick.

Even today, there is something incredibly satisfying about watching water bead up and roll straight off a treated surface.

It just looks brilliant.

Nanocoating was born

Daan and Vincent grabbed a beer, sat down in front of a whiteboard and started working out how they could make this technology easier for everyone to use.

From their experience in the coatings industry, nano and impregnating treatments were often focused on large professional customers, manufacturers and expensive applications.

Luxury yachts were being treated with advanced coatings — but why shouldn’t you be able to use similar technology at home to protect your garden furniture, treat your shower screen or help reduce the build-up of limescale?

So that is exactly what they set out to change.

Working together with suppliers and manufacturers, Nanocoating was born.

Our aim is to make advanced surface protection accessible to everyone.
